LEARNING AT EAQ GRASS ROOTS

TASTER SESSION

A 45 minute free taster session gives learners the chance to see what equine assisted learning is all about. The session helps to familiarise learners with the environment, the animals and the facilitator. It gives the learner an idea of what kind of activities we run and is the ideal way to see how equine assisted learning can be of benefit.

10 HOUR INITIAL ASSESSMENT

Having attended a taster session, the next step is to start our 10 hour initial assessment programme. This programme is split into several sessions of a length that suits the learner and gives them the chance to spend more time with our horses and dogs, take part in a range of activities and become comfortable at our centre.  It also gives the facilitator time to assess how sessions can be tailored to suit the learner’s needs.

Take a look at our gallery to see equine assisted learning in action.

INDIVIDUAL LEARNING PLAN

Once a learner has completed the 10 hour initial assessment programme, we will develop an individual learning plan to meet their needs. This can include achieving nationally recognised qualifications or working through one of the EAQ programmes. We can run sessions as regularly and for the length of time that suits the learner.
